Data Collection
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture to create and manage your account.
Study Data
Your study progress, decks, flashcards, and review history are synced to our secure cloud servers to enable access across multiple devices.
Analytics
We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app experience. This includes screen views, feature usage, and study session completion. We do not collect your flashcard content or personal notes.
We use our own privacy-focused analytics system. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising networks.
AI Features
When you use AI-powered features, certain data is sent to our server and processed by a third-party AI service provider to provide the requested functionality.
Smart Card Generation
The words and phrases you enter for card generation are sent to our AI provider to generate complete flashcard content including translations, readings, and example sentences.
Anki Import
Sample flashcard content from your deck is processed by our AI provider to automatically detect and map field types (e.g., front vs. back).
Kanji Analysis
When analyzing characters not in our local dictionary, data may be sent for AI-assisted analysis and lookup.
Data Protection
- Data is processed only to provide requested features
- Data is not stored by providers beyond the processing session
- Data is not used for AI model training
- Data is not sold to or shared with other third parties
Processing
Intelligent Import
For Anki (.apkg) imports, we may process minimal deck headers to auto-configure import settings. This data is processed in-memory and not stored.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption for all data in transit and secure authentication.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, delete, or export your data. You can also opt out of AI data processing at any time in the app's Settings. To exercise these rights, please contact us.
